Privacy Policy
Last updated September 26, 2026
Inkwell collects only what it needs to run a reading and writing site. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use advertising trackers.
What we store
- Account: your email address and a securely hashed password.
- Profile: your display name, username, pen name, avatar and bio, if you add them.
- Reading activity: your library, reading progress, ratings, reactions and comments.
- Chapter reads: we count chapter views so authors can see anonymous totals, such as daily readers and retention. Authors never see who read what.
- Stories you publish: covers, chapters, drafts and author notes.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies only to keep you signed in. Your theme and reading preferences are saved in your browser. There are no analytics or advertising cookies.
Who processes your data
Your data is stored with Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage), and the site is served by Cloudflare. They process it on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms. Documents you import into the author studio are converted in your browser and are never uploaded as files.
What’s public
Your profile, published stories, ratings and comments are visible to everyone. Your library, progress, drafts and email address are private.
Your choices
- Edit your profile and email address at any time in Settings.
- Delete your stories, chapters and comments whenever you like.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or to delete your account and everything linked to it, through the contact page.
Children
Inkwell isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date above.
